          To the Memory of My Sister, Audrey;
Every person, in their own unique way, creates a legacy in their lifetime by which others can live long after that person has left us.  For those of us who remain, Audrey Snider has truly created a legacy to uphold and fulfill in our daily lives.  I firmly believe that carrying this out is a true honor and responsibility, by means of the various facets that Audrey made so uniquely her own.
Audrey was a true woman of faith, a conveyor of the Word of God in developing her family and living her daily life.  Not unless illness or weather prevented her would she miss a Sunday to share the Word and love of God in fellowship with her brethren in Christ.  As time moves forward not all of God’s children remain as strong as before, or able to sing quite as loudly as they always have.  So, this is the time when the Lord takes them into His loving Hands to rest their souls as He has now done with Audrey.
Audrey’s sense of joy for life was enough to make us all smile no matter the circumstance and she befriended those she may have barely known. Her smile conveyed her gentle strength so quietly yet so powerfully. How often she surprised us with an arrow of comment so to-the-point that it would just leave us speechless- especially when we were studying the Word together. Some may have thought she wasn't listening - but she certainly was! We all have our own examples of moments like these, of the times when Audrey would make us unexpectedly laugh and laugh while she beamed that contagiously radiant smile we all loved and will never forget.
King Solomon affirms that the virtuous woman is "...clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs at the days to come." She does so because she is confident the Almighty will provide and walk with her. Audrey’s quiet strength and her faith in God motivated her to move forward even during difficult and trying times.
We are all blessed that Audrey graced our lives with her presence and shared her wisdom, love, and generosity with us. In many ways, she taught us to be unselfish as we witnessed how she placed the needs of others before her own, even as she opened her home and life to a budding ministry in the closing years of her life.
Solomon noted that the virtuous woman’s lamp remains lit even at night, he affirms in Proverbs:
"...at night her lamp is undimmed
She puts her hands to the distaff; and her fingers ply the spindle.
She reaches out her hands to the poor, and extends her arms to the needy.
She fears not the snow for her household; all her charges are doubly clothed.
She makes her own coverlets; fine linen and purple are her clothing.
Her husband is prominent at the city gates as he sits with the elders of the land.
She makes garments and sells them, and stocks the merchants with belts.
She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs at the days to come.
She opens her mouth in wisdom, and on her tongue is kindly counsel.
She watches the conduct of her household, and eats not her food in idleness.
Her children rise up and praise her; her husband, too, extols her:
"Many are the women of proven wealth, but you have excelled them all.”
Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting; the woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her a reward of her labors, and let her works praise her at the city gates." Proverbs 31:19b-31
A woman of deep faith in the Lord and Savior she loved above all else and served her whole life; remembered for her love of her family and friends, her integrity, strength and her joyous spirit; Audrey awaits us now is in His Presence, her light shining forth from Heaven itself, still helping to guide us Home to Glory!
